Shia LaBeouf’s semi-autobiographical drama is based on his own childhood as a child-star and his subsequent issues with alcohol abuse and recovery in rehab. LaBeouf plays his own alcoholic father, with Lucas Hedges and Noah Jupe playing versions of himself. Director Alma Har’el leads this talented cast perfectly, and brings to life this painful story to incredible cathartic effect. On digital now.
What better way to spend an evening in quarantine than watching Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska kick some ass? It’s not going to win any awards, but for girls’ night on Zoom this is the perfect flick. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy the action as Elizabeth Banks returns and helms this franchise reboot, spy extravaganza complete with ridiculously far-fetched plot and fabulous costume changes. Lad’s night needs some movie action too and we’ve got you covered: this reboot sequel doesn’t quite hit as well as the first one, but Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan and Jack Black still bring the laughs.
