After a long wait for fans, the first full trailer for Toy Story 4 has finally been released.
The trailer sees the introduction of Forky (Tony Hale), a school craft-project turned new favourite toy.
However the newcomer is not happy with his new status, and expresses his desire to fulfil his true destiny – that is, to put himself in the bin.
What a mood for 2019.
Woody (Tom Hanks) however, always looking out for his owner’s happiness, takes it upon himself to show Forky the wonders of being a child’s toy, and along the way reunites with his long-lost girlfriend Bo Peep (Annie Potts).
It also looks like audiences are guaranteed to leave the cinema bleary-eyed, since Tom Hanks had stated on Chris Evans’ Radio 2 Breakfast Show that the film’s last scene was “a moment in history”.
“The way you record Toy Story, you’re in a room with the team that has created it. When I went in for my last day of recording, I wanted to have my back to them, because usually, you’re facing him so he can look right up and you can talk about it. But I didn’t want to see them and pretend they couldn’t see me.”
This came after Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, confessed that the final scene was so emotional that he struggled to get through it.
Buzz Lightyear actor Allen previously revealed the final scene is so emotional that he “couldn’t get through it”.
Toy Story 4 will release in cinemas June 21st.
